In the F E T I S H E S / R E M A I N S series, I work with the “remains of the day” that I find on the beaches of Sanibel. Pieces of shell, worn by the relentless waves, crabs and sea urchins are documented and have a renewed beauty and legacy through my eye. I examine them in a way they are rarely seen, and through the process of editing and magnification, transform the common and everyday into the extraordinary and mysterious.
